‘I will literally be the old woman who lives in her shoes’ – Carrie Bradshaw

For as long as I can remember I have loved shopping. I love the experience of seeing the new styles and all of the possibilities of the looks you can create with them.

As I enter ‘adulthood’ with trepidation (apparently, that’s what I am supposed to do as I inch ever closer to 30), I am beginning to understand the importance of refining my clothing collection.

Much like my make-up collection I want my wardrobe to feature a small amount of items that are versatile and that I truly love.  My latest purchase is a perfect example of this.

For me, this bag is timeless, sophisticated and the perfect ladylike handbag. I purchased it in Kildare Village, an outlet mall about an hour outside Dublin.

The bag is the Coach Ruby crossbody bag and I purchased mine in black. It was also available in a beautiful tan colour (which may result in a return visit in the future!).

The bag is the perfect size to take to dinner or to finish a formal outfit. I can fit my phone, keys, make-up and a small purse in it at a push.

The straps are detachable as is the chain detail, so it can also be used as a clutch.

As with all of my more expensive purchases (of which there are not very many), I researched my options before I decided to invest in this item. I had seen the bag in October but decided to hold off and see what options were available first.

I looked in Brown Thomas, one of Ireland’s high-end retailers, to see bags I had in mind in person and I also read online reviews of bags I was considering purchasing.

Ultimately, this was the perfect bag for my needs and I love it!

What is your favorite classic bag?
